Privacy Policy
Word or Void ("the game") is operated by [YOUR NAME / COMPANY]. You can contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
Playing without an account
You can play every mode without creating an account. Games against computers and on one device stay on your device. Settings and your name are stored in your device’s local storage.
What we collect if you create an account
- Email address, used only to sign you in.
- Username, shown on leaderboards.
- Password, which we store only as a salted one-way hash.
- Game data: your stats (games, wins, streaks, longest words), daily challenge results, and your leaderboard entry. You can hide yourself from the leaderboard in the Stats screen.
Online games
Online games are relayed through our server. Messages (moves, names, chat and reactions) pass through the server to the other players in your room and are not stored. The server also sees your IP address while you are connected, which we use to limit abuse; we do not keep it.
Third-party services
When you look up a word’s meaning, the word is sent to the free dictionary services Datamuse and Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev). No account information is sent.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. [Adjust to the age rating you choose in the stores.]
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time inside the game (Stats → Delete account). This permanently removes your email, username, stats, daily results and leaderboard entries.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change, and change the date above.
